The Blackburn Referee Association was founded in 1899.  We are affiliated to the Football Association and The Referees Association.  Blackburn is proud to be associated with Blackburn & District Football Combination, the Blackburn Sunday Football League and all local youth leagues.

Advice to members:

If you are assaulted during a match please follow these steps.

  • Abandon the match, obtain names and addresses of any witnesses.
  • Report directly to the Secretary of the League.. If it is serious report it to the Police.
  • Ring the Association Secretary right away. 

   If A player is seriously injured during your match you may be involved in a legal case. 

  • Do not enter into any dialogue witht he team or the individual concerned.
  • Any correspondence from solicitors should be forwarded to Lancashire FA without hesitation.
  • Phone questions should be answered with a firm "NO COMMENT".
  • If in doubt contact an executive committee member for advise and support
